Guidance from mentors was thorough and consistently encouraging. Rather than simply providing answers, they prompted me to think critically and explore solutions independently — which proved invaluable for developing real problem-solving confidence. The admin team was equally supportive, ensuring that resources, references, and any required documentation were made available without delay.
3. Relevance of Work to Academic Major
The scope of work assigned to our team aligned closely with my university background in software engineering, while simultaneously pushing me into territory I had not previously explored. Working hands-on with AWS services — including VPC, EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Bedrock, and ECS — gave me a practical cloud foundation that academic coursework alone could not have provided. Additionally, working on myFit as a real product strengthened my skills in full-stack development, API design, and cloud-native deployment.

The opportunity to attend external AWS events — such as the AWS re:Invent 2025 Recap and Cloud Mastery 2026 #1 — further broadened my awareness of emerging cloud trends like Generative AI, Agentic AI, and multimodal RAG architectures.

Even in high-pressure periods, collaboration remained constructive, and that spirit made the experience far more rewarding than working in isolation would have been.

Interns were given access to meaningful events and learning opportunities that went beyond typical internship programs. Attending the AWS re:Invent 2025 Recap event in Ho Chi Minh City in January 2026 was a particularly valuable experience — both for the technical knowledge gained and for the networking opportunities it presented with AWS professionals and Solution Architects in Vietnam.
1. What did you find most satisfying during your internship?
The most rewarding aspect was being directly involved in building and deploying a functioning cloud application — myFit — using core AWS services. Seeing how individual components like Cognito, S3, CloudFront, and Bedrock fit together into a cohesive production architecture was both challenging and deeply satisfying. The mentorship provided throughout this process made the experience feel guided rather than arbitrary.

Organizing more structured technical deep-dives — particularly around advanced topics such as Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, AWS CDK), serverless patterns, or AI integration workflows — would add significant value for interns who already have a foundational understanding of cloud services. This could help bridge the gap between basic AWS usage and more production-grade practices.

Without hesitation, yes. FCJ provides a rare combination of technical depth, mentorship quality, and real project exposure that is difficult to find elsewhere at the internship level. Establishing a clearer project roadmap with defined deliverable milestones from the outset of the program would be beneficial. Having a structured timeline helps interns allocate their effort more deliberately across the 12-week period and reduces uncertainty in the early stages.
